Jennifer Tinker

Supervising Attorney

In her role as Supervising Attorney, Jennifer sets the vision and policies for the legal work at CIAC.  She also oversees team professional development and caseloads.  Believing that a collaborative environment is a healthy and positive work environment, Jennifer partners with the CIAC team on fundraising, oversight of day to day operations, policy construction and community outreach.

EXPERIENCE
Before devoting her efforts to CIAC, Jennifer co-owned UnlimitedFOCUS, LLC, a Pittsburgh based web and graphic design business.  For 14 years, she provided designs and builds for non-profit organizations, small businesses, colleges and seminaries.

In 2013, Jennifer began to volunteer with Christian Legal Aid of Pittsburgh.  In 2016, Pastor Glenn Hanna of Allegheny Center Alliance Church approached Jennifer to explore the idea of bringing a legal service center to the Northside that would begin to meet the needs of the city’s refugee population.  Soon after, joined by Marge Sellers, Jennifer began to lead the charge in creating such a service.

Throughout 2017, Jennifer, with guidance from sponsoring affiliates, worked tirelessly to create the foundational building blocks of a new non-profit organization, attain 501c3 status, and complete the stringent process of pursuing Department of Justice Recognition for what would eventually become the Christian Immigration Advocacy Center.

Jennifer has a passion for working with the immigrants and refugees of Pittsburgh and is grateful to be able to use her training in this pursuit.  Her focus has been to provide quality counsel in areas such as Greencard applications, naturalization, family reunification, removal of conditions, student visas and other needs.

During her inactive years from the bar, Jennifer also homeschooled her two children.
